Radiator Cap Radiators specially the high-pressure type are used to increase the internal pressure of the radiator thus physically raising the coolant boiling point and increasing cooling efficiency. The open valve pressure is generally around 1.3 KG/cm2 compared to 1.1 KG/cm2. These high pressure radiator caps demonstrates their effectiveness under high load situations such as high performance circuit driving.
